It explores the relationship between an aggressive, flirtatious and dangerous woman who sets out to embroil a house servant in her nefarious schemes. The designer, Sandy Powell has received many Academy nominations for her work, starting with "Orlando", some eight years ago, culminating last year in her oscar win for "Shakespeare In Love". Unusually, she was nominated for a second film, "Velvet Goldmine" during the same Academy season.
