This film is based on the famous story written by Washington Irving - a story set in the custom-bound world of 1799 rural America. It is a strange and unusual tale involving a sheriff, Ichabod Crane, and a set of unusual murders that seem to have no solution, except in the supernatural. The mysterious and infamous character of the Headless Horseman is part of the supernatural world around which the movie revolves. Colleen Atwood, the designer, has worked extensively in the industry. Her most recent Academy nomination was for last year's "Beloved." Her first Academy nomination was for "Little Women."
