I'm going to my boyfriend's Prom and I'm not going to know anyone there. I'm scared to meet new people. What should I do?

It can definitely be intimidating to be in a group of strangers. Want to know the #1 way to overcome your shyness and make friends? Get people to talk about themselves. Ask them questions. In general, people are flattered when someone wants to know about THEM. Ask them which bands they like to listen to, what their favorite movie is, what their hobbies are. (Do they draw? Read books? Shop?) You’ll soon find the topics on which you connect and conversation will start flowing. So, on Prom night, remember: take a deep breath, smile, and start asking questions!
