I like to recommend, if you can afford it, to get a professional updo for Prom, grad or Homecoming, because it's one of the only times in your life when you're going to have a chance to wear a sophisticated updo. Updos really make the occasion extra-special and different from a regular night out.

However, it isn't"better"to wear your hair up, it's merely a matter of personal preference. Some girls just feel prettier and more confident with their hair down, and that's OK, too.

There is also the option of wearing your hair partially up with the rest down (you can put just the front up, perhaps, and embellish it with flowers or pretty clips), or in a loose, messy updo with lots of tendrils hanging down, so that you get some of both effects.

Whichever you decide, up or down, you can look beautiful at Prom!
