Ask Fashion Girl
Dear Fashion Girl,
Dear Fashion Girl,
Help- I have this pair of pants and they fit me really well, but when I wear them with flat shoes they drag and are too long -- when I wear them with heels they are too short. Also I am on the heavy side so I was wondering what types of shoes would make my legs not look so heavy in dresses and skirts. The style now is just clunky, hunky shoes and they look awful on me! Please help me.
Thanks. Cortney
Dear Cortney,
Unless there is enough fabric in the hem of your pants to let out, your best bet is to hem your pants shorter and wear them with flat shoes. It is better to wear well-tailored pants that look great with one pair of shoes than to wear pants that don't fit correctly with various heel heights.
When it comes to wearing shoes with skirts, always remember the rule "the higher the heel, the longer (and slimmer) the leg." Generally, dressy shoes will not be as "chunky," but even casual shoes are beginning to have a lighter look and feel. Consult your favorite shoe store to see the latest in slimmed-down designs.
