Are the Career Center Services free or do I have to pay for this service?

The Career Center Services for employers are absolutely free! We will accept a company’s posting as long as the job requirements are with the Industries we serve:
Fashion Design, Merchandise Marketing, Merchandise Product Development, Graphic Design,
Interior Design, Textiles, Visual Merchandising, Beauty Industry Merchandising & Marketing, and Apparel Manufacturing & Marketing.

Can I place a Job Order for an Intern, Dresser or a Volunteer?

Yes, you can place a Job Order for an Intern, Dresser or Volunteer, by posting your job order on line. All Interns are pre-screened by their Career Advisor and must qualify based on their major.

How long will it take for my Job Order to Post?

It usually takes 1-2 days for Job Orders to post. You will receive a confirmation email from The Career Center Technical Support Department when your Job Order is posted.

When can I expect to be contacted by a candidate?

As soon as your Job Order has been posted on our Website, you will start receiving resumes or calls from candidates within 1-2 weeks.

Can the Employer come on campus to interview students?

Yes, all employers are welcomed to come on campus to interview students or alumni. Please call the Career Center @ 213.627.2787 to schedule a specific time and day.

How many hours or days are your students available to work?

Each student has his or her own class schedule. Most students are available to work 2 to 3 days a week plus weekends. We also have evening students who are available to work 40 hours a week 8-5.

Do you have Job Fairs? When and how often?

Yes, we have 2 Job Fairs a year for new students. We also have a Career Fair in May for June graduates and for alumni.

Do you have experienced Alumni in the Industry?

Yes, we have over 35,000 experienced Alumni. FIDM provides the most relevant, specialized, professional education and hands on training to students and graduates seeking careers in the Fashion, Interiors, Textiles, Graphic Design, and Entertainment Industries. Our alumni work for high-profile companies such as Giorgio Armani, NBC, Sony Pictures, Sanrio, Roxy/Quicksilver, and BCBG, just to name a few.

Yes, we have alumni living throughout the United States and abroad. We have active Alumni Associations in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Arizona, Michigan, Mexico, Hong Kong, and Korea.

How do I know what to pay the student? Do you have a pay scale?
