Supporting Our Students

FIDM's eLearning program prides itself on its support for students. We realize that with new and exciting developments in technology, new problems come up. FIDM's eLearning support staff actively watches for new developments in the computer industry and continually reevaluates our support methodology.

Technical Support

Technical support is available toll-free and via email 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Technical support assists with student computer issues, access, software installation and setup, and maintenance.

Curriculum Support

Our courses have REAL instructors who teach these courses on-campus. They are experts in their fields and are very knowledgable about the subjects they are teaching. Hand-in-hand with eLearning development staff, they wrote the courses. You will not have a passive learning experience at FIDM. The instructors are always available via email throughout the online experience. Answers are just a simple click or email away.

Collaboration

FIDM's technical and education staff work closely with each other and meet regularly to evaluate students' progress in the courses and determine what else can be added. Courseware at FIDM is not just a cut-and-paste of lecture notes. We add interactive exercises, videos, multimedia activities, all to make the online learning experience richer and more engaging for the FIDM eLearning student. These were developed with the instructors to ensure that the integrity of the material is not lost in translation. Though most eLearning at other schools is generated very quickly and haphazardly from existing material, FIDM chose another path: to do it correctly with both existing and new material that takes advantage of the digital medium.
