Rose Nichols
Founder And President of LIP-INK

The
number 5,747,017 may not be significant to you
but to FIDM Advanced Study Merchandise Marketing graduate Rose Nichols and to hundreds of thousands of women and men around the globe, it has revolutionized the way they look and feel.
5,747,017 is the U.S. Patent number granted to Rose Nichols for her coveted formula that Rose claims produces the first real non-smear lip, eye and brow color. Rose is the founder and president of LIP-INK© which manufactures and distributes Rose's cosmetics line.
Rose, a 20-year accounting veteran, gave up a self-built accounting business
with 7000 clients to attend FIDM and to learn something that was far removed
from anything she had done before. Already having a strong background in business,
FIDM's Merchandise Marketing Program seemed the natural choice for Rose. She
says FIDM was an excellent catalyst for her and after a short time chose to
put her emphasis into cosmetics.
Rose says that her instructors taught her everything she needed to know about
outsourcing products, manufacturing costs, and industry standards. Rose spent
many hours in FIDM's extensive resource center, which she says is FIDM's greatest
asset to its students. Rose was confident there was a more efficient and natural
solution for women's cosmetics, and after graduation, decided to explore the
chemistry of herbs and botanicals. She started in her kitchen, later moving
into her own laboratory.
After nearly four years of original thinking, hard work, and the investment
of most of her life savings, Rose began to develop products superior to those
marketed by the cosmetic industry giants. Rose's products are created by combining
93% natural herbs and botanicals, with the same pigments found in ordinary
cosmetics. They are hypoallergenic, free of wax, animal fat, cholesterol,
preservatives, and offer the following three promises:
1.The color will last 50% longer than regular make-up.
2.It is virtually impossible to smear.
3.It will last through a meal and drinks.

In 1994, equipped with a strong business sense, marketing knowledge gained at FIDM, and her newly developed products, Rose started LIP-INK©. Since then, LIP-INK has rapidly grown into a name recognized world-wide in a variety of markets including the entertainment, and medical industries. Her products have been featured in Glamour© magazine and on ABC News.Com©. Make-up artists on the sets of "Melrose Place", "Baywatch", "Jack & Jill", and "Alley McBeal" have used LIP-INK products, and well as numerous plastic surgeons that provide their patients with options to mask their post-surgery scars.
Rose hopes her success will inspire other women to live out their dreams. Her advice: "Step forward, trust yourself and tune into the genius within you. Then back it up with hard work - and never give up!"
