Bear Brandegee
Turning Passion Into Profit
Who do executives and community-oriented women in New York City and Pennsylvania turn to when they want the best in taste for their wardrobes? FIDM Grad and Fashion Consultant Bear Brandegee, of course! “I help my clients define their style and personal brand,” Bear explains. Specializing in the Doncaster line of designer clothing and providing wardrobe consultations and management, Bear is a stylist who's committed to helping her clients build a wardrobe that reflects their unique personality and lifestyle.
In addition to Bear's work as a fashion consultant, she imparts her talent for creating beautiful fashion imagery to a wide readership with her work as the Fashion Editor of Pittsburgh Quarterly and as a contributor and stylist to regional and national magazines. And while a career in fashion had always been a dream for Bear, it wasn't until her studies at FIDM that her dream became a reality.
While she built a career as a marketing executive, Bear came to realize that her own professional image was critical in her role as marketing advisor to C-level executives. She understood firsthand the challenges of developing a corporate style that gave her command of boardrooms. “I wanted to take this knowledge and help women like me decode the fashion rules and trends and create their own powerful persona.”
And Bear has been doing just that ever since, having dressed hundreds of women over the course of her work in the last five years. Bear made her career transition by adding a Professional Designation Degree in Merchandise Marketing from FIDM, to complement her BA and MBA. “FIDM gave me the academic foundation to turn my passion for fashion and my experience in personal branding into a successful business.” She continues to actively work with the college as the regional president of the Alumni Association.
