Los Angeles' Fashion District

Take a Walk Around the Hottest Spots!

Did you know FIDM’s Los Angeles campus is just steps away from the Fashion District? Manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, pattern makers, designers and the California Mart, all occupy the 82-block business improvement district, which creates an exciting and eclectic local community! Whether you’re looking for women’s wear, accessories, bridal, textiles or just great deals, you’re bound to find something!
Don’t miss these stops:

California Mart - Located on Los Angeles St. between 9th St. and Olympic Blvd., the California Mart caters to wholesale buyers, but opens to the public occasionally for huge sample sales.

Cooper Building - Housed on Los Angeles St. near 9th St., the Cooper Building is the U.S.’s first factory outlet mall. Two floors of the building offer designer discount stores.

Santee Alley - Located in the alley between Santee St. and Maple Ave. from Olympic Blvd. to 12th Street, Santee Alley is a shopping bazaar, specializing in handbags, shoes and bargains!

You can take a free guided trolley tour, which leaves hourly (from 10am to noon on the last Saturday of each month), and boards in front of the California Mart. Check out http://www.fashiondistrict.org/ for more information. Or take FIDM’s Walking Tour, which is offered quarterly, and hits all the major sights. Call 213.624.1200 for more information.
